The Foxes in the hunt for Birmingham City striker

Leicester City are keeping tabs on Birmingham City striker Che Adams, according to Leicestershire Live.

Claude Puel’s Foxes are looking for some bite up front and could move for the highly-rated forward this month.

However, Adams, who is 22-years-old, is believed to be the subject of interest from up to 12 Premier League sides after impressing in the Championship with Birmingham.

Adams has been a key player for Garry Monk’s side this season and has scored 13 goals in all competitions.

The Leicester-born forward started his career as a youngster with spells at Coventry City, St Andrews FC and Oadby Town before getting his big break at Ilkeston Town. He impressed for the non-league side and had many Football League clubs chasing him.

It was Sheffield United who won the race to sign him in 2014. Adams broke into their first-team and went onto play 55 times for the Blades, scoring 15 goals in League One.

Birmingham then moved to sign him in 2016 for a fee believed to be around £2 million. Adams has since been a regular for the Blues and scored seven in his first season at St Andrews followed by nine in the last campaign.

He has pace, power and has proven he can score goals at this level so looks well equipped to make the step up into the Premier League in the near future. Birmingham will be desperate to keep hold of him this month but will face a lot of interest in him.
